My Kindle is, without a doubt, my most favorite piece of technology and most probably Walter’s most hated piece of technology, mostly because of the amount of time I spend with it! My Kindle has rekindled my passion for reading, it makes buying books so easy and convenient and reading them on the go always a possibility, I am never without my Kindle, I take it with me EVERYWHERE! Since getting my Kindle in August last year, I have read in excess of 40 books, which works out to an average of 1 book every 3 days, yes, I read a lot, I’m the first to admit I’ve become a little obsessive with my reading.

Of the 40 books I’ve read, some of them have been brilliant, I’m a huge 50 Shades Of Grey fan and also the Crossfire Trilogy, waiting impatiently for the 3rd book in this series to be released later this year, some have been mediocre and some have just been crap! But two of the books I read while on holiday have really stuck out for me. When so many of the books I read blur and bleed one into another, these two books really stand out and if you enjoy contemporary romance, I’d really encourage you to read these books.

The Edge Of Never by J.A . Redmerski

The Edge Of Never

-A New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal Best-Seller-

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

I cried when this book ended, I loved the characters of Carmyn and Andrew so much I simply didn’t want to leave them behind. In fact I found myself crying, laughing, stunned and breathless throughout the entire book. The characters are likable, the secrets shocking. The book was, for me, beautifully written and I simply could not put it down.

This book can be found at #4 on Amazon’s top selling women’s contemporary fiction list and no less than 1366 readers gave it a 5 star rating.  Personally I’d give it a 5 star rating too and everyone who I’ve recommended it to has absolutely loved it!

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

“Hopeless blew me away.  I was so wrapped up in this story, I felt as if I was Sky.  She’s so real. And Holder…dear God, fan me please.  This one will rock your world.  Trust me.”  ~Abbi Glines, bestselling author.

“HOPELESS has set the bar for the best first kiss in the history of first kisses. And the best leading man.  And the best plot twists. And the best love-making.  And the best last ‘chapter.’  I guess it’s safe to say this book has set the bar for every book I pick up from here on out.” ~Lynn’s Reads

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

This book grabbed my attention almost immediately, I suspected there was a shocking story behind the characters but I could never have imagined for been prepared for the reveal of that story within the story. I was shocked and desperate to read more to find out what was going to happen. This book had me going “aaaah” *insert mushy tone* a number of times but I loved the story and I especially loved the character of Sky, so  brave and so strong. I was initially a little put off by her seemingly silly name but as the story revealed itself, it because a more perfect name for her.
Hopeless is a new release, having only been published in December of 2012 but it already has 1342 5 star ratings on Amazon’s Kindle list and so many reviewers can’t  be wrong right?
So if you’re looking for highly entertaining, breath taking and surprising reads, then I’d highly recommend both of these books to you. The characters in both books are lovable and the stories in both are surprising. Definitely worth the read and I’d give them both 5 star ratings!
