Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of being invited to RAIN Urban Boutique Spa for a review and what a pleasure it was. I checked our RAIN’s website before heading over and can, with 100% confidence, say that they tell no lies in their bio! It was fabulous!

I should mention, as a trained beauty therapist with almost a decade experience working in the beauty industry, I am quite a jaded customer. It takes a LOT to impress me. I’m fussy and particular and find it very difficult to relax in a spa environment as I’m always conscious of what the therapist is doing. This comes from years working in a training school training therapists, as well as so many salon’s and spa’s out there who cut corners and costs and employ shoddily trained therapist, often leaving me less than impressed with treatments I’ve received.

My afternoon at RAIN was nothing like that. It started with a  warm welcome into a truly beautiful spa, complete with welcome tea and a refresher towel, where I was allowed a few minutes to sit and relax, enjoy my tea and unwind a bit and even given a music menu so that I could choose my choice of music for my massage.

From there are was taken into a beautiful, CLEAN and very tranquil therapy room, where my feet were soaked in deliciously warm rose petal water while my therapist, Privilege, discussed my choice of custom massage. RAIN only do custom massages and I absolutely LOVE the concept. How often have you been for a full body massage or an aroma therapy massage but there are parts of the massage you simply don’t like or enjoy? Well at RAIN, choose the amount of time you want and then you discuss with your therapist a custom massage just for you. I chose to have my feet massaged, a hot stone/Swedish back and neck massage combo and an Indian had massage. Let me tell you, the warm inviting therapy room, coupled with that custom massage and the natural sounds music choice I’d chosen off the menu, left me literally FLOATING after my treatment.

After my massage, I was brought downstairs and offered a refreshment and snack while I had a manicure. Again, a really pleasant experience, the manicure implements were brought to the manicure table in a sealed bag after being removed from the sanitizer. And my therapist did such a great job of bugging my nails, I wasn’t sure I wanted to paint them once she was done.

I really can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed my two hours of bliss at RAIN. All their products ranges are natural, vegan and cruelty free, the salon is clean and tranquil and so very very beautiful. All the staff were incredibly friendly and professional and really went the extra mile to make sure it was special for me and I most certainly will be visiting them again! That massage was heavenly and I really really want to go again soon!
