We’re halfway through term 3 and a new year looms, just around the corner. My eldest is going into Grade 4 and I have literally felt my panic rising with each day that we move closer to this BIG year in my child’s school career. So this term we have made two significant changes in an attempt to ease our eldest into Grade 4 and, of course, ease the burden of homework on me as a working mom. The first thing we did was hire our temporary aupair, that we use when I travel, to come in full-time Monday’s through Thursdays, Tamaryn is now at our house to do an hour of homework with Ava & Hannah, she’s studying currently to get her degree in foundation phase teaching so I am eternally grateful. The second thing we have done is to start using WorksheetCloud.
The timing of all of this is so very fortuitous, it’s as if they were listening in on our conversation. For months now my husband and I have been discussing signing Ava up for WorksheetCloud and then last month they contacted me for trade exchange and offered me free WorksheetCloud subscriptions for Ava and Hannah for a year and FIVE free subscriptions worth R 1560 per year for five of you!
How WorksheetCloud Works
I absolutely love that this is online learning and that my child can use her tablet and study independently anywhere and on multiple devices. WorksheetCloud using the CAPS curriculum for Grade 1 to Grade 9 learners, using thousands of online CAPS based online and printable worksheets at the click of a button. There is also a great, built-in rewards system which we have used as a basis for her tuck and pocket money. Additionally, parents get a parental login as well which allows us to keep track of her progress, as well as showing data on our child’s weak and strong points so we know where to focus.
