The holidays are literally just around the corner and if you’re like us, you’re planning your family holiday, which will probably include some sort of road trip. Am I right? Whether you’re driving a short distance or across the country this holiday, a pre-trip car check can make all the difference to the safety of your vehicle and avoiding long delays stuck on the side of the road.
Battery Centre has all the info you need!
Obviously, the first thing you need to do before you leave is check your car’s battery by eye. If you see any acid leaks, cracks or damage, you probably want to replace that battery before you leave.
Replacing my cars battery ranks with other chores and responsibilities I know need to be done but I hate getting done. You know, filling up with fuel, renewing my car license etc. I needn’t have worried though, my trip to Battery Centre was quick and painless. They knew exactly what battery my car needed and had the old one out and the new one in, in under 10 minutes!
Other important checks include:
- Brake fluid
- Engine oil
- Tyre pressure
- Emergency kit, including jumper cables
Want to win a brand new battery for your car before hitting the road these holidays?

We have gotten into the habit of checking tyres oil and water first thing in the morning every single day. A new battery would be great been having to jump it a few times this month already and we will be taking our boys to Knysna next month.
Checking your battery and any fluids in your engine. The state of your tyres and the pressure is important. Make sure your emergency kit is up to date and make sure everything is there for changing a tyre.
So need this one!
Checking tyre pressure is more important than most people realise
Check everything!!! (battery, tyre, oil, coolant, water, spare tyres…)
