Currently, my kids are in the pool & I’m hiding in the shade of our patio, laptop out and sipping an ice tea. This screams summer for me!

Because I follow a low carb lifestyle, I don’t drink the pre-made iced tea’s, preferring instead to make my own. Homemade is always best and at least that way I know exactly what has gone into making my ice tea!

Also, because I follow a low carb lifestyle, my choice of iced drinks is limited so this is a great way to have some flavor and get in lot’s of extra antioxidants when I want something more than just water.

Five Roses and Freshpak Rooibos are also all about creating refreshing homemade tea recipes and to celebrate their amazing recipes, they sent me a hamper full of teas to try!

Here are two of my favorite recipes of theirs:

There are now so many flavors of Freshpak Rooibos that it’s so easy to make your own Ice Tea at home! Freshpak Green Rooibos Tea, Freshpak Watermelon & Mint Flavoured Rooibos Tea, Freshpak Cranberry & Pomegranate Flavoured Rooibos Tea and Freshpak Honey Flavoured Rooibos Tea. Also wonderful as iced tea, the β€˜Junior’ varieties include Freshpak Junior Strawberry & Vanilla Flavoured Rooibos Tea, Freshpak Junior Peach & Apricot Flavoured Rooibos Tea and Freshpak Junior Apple Flavoured Rooibos Tea.

So far, my favorites from the pack are the Watermelon & Mint and the Cranberry & Pomegranate.

Five Roses have also upped their game with a host of flavor variants to try too! Five Roses Select African Blend, Five Roses Green Tea, Five Roses Rooibos Select Tea, Five Roses Passion Fruit & Cranberry Flavoured Tea, Five Roses Apple, Vanilla & Cinnamon Flavoured Tea, and Five Roses Strawberry & Blackcurrant Flavoured Tea.

My favorite flavors here have been the Apple, Vanilla & Cinnamon and the Strawberry & Blackcurrent.

You can make it sugar free!

I made a couple of these recipes and substituted the sugar with either a sugar substitute like Xylitol or adding honey to taste.

I’m also dead keen to try out these peach flavored ice lollies!
