About a month ago, L’Oreal South Africa sent me their Radiance Therapy fro their new Botanicals Fresh Care range to try. I won’t lie, I have steered clear of this brand because of their history with animal testing, but when I heard that the new Botanicals Fresh Care range is vegan-friendly, then that should also mean that the products are cruelty-free, so I decided to give them a try.
Rose & Geranium Radiance Therapy
I received the Rose & Geranium Radiance range to try, which is for dull or colored hair. The products contain Rose Petal Oil and Geranium Essential Oils, which gives it a fresh and clean, floral scent. I must say, I do love the way the products smell and this range promises to revive the vibrancy and shine of dull and coloured hair.
What I Loved About The Range:
Aside from the fresh and clean smell, I love that it is made with 97% naturally derived ingredients that have been sourced responsibly. L’Oreal promises that this range is not only sourced responsibly but that ingredients are extracted using the most respectful processes and as far as they can they use organic, mono-sourced and sustainable ingredients using green chemistry processes for extraction. The vegan formula means that not only does the product contain absolutely no animal-derived ingredients, but that it is not tested on animals too. Which I was really pleased to read because in the past, L’Oreal has had a terrible history with animal testing. The formulation is also biodegradable and contains no silicones, the packaging, aside fro the pumps and caps are fully recyclable and made from 100% recycled PET, aside from the tubes which are made for 50% recycled materials.
What I Didn’t Love About The Range:
Only one thing, products do not sulphate free, which is really disappointing as long term, I prefer sulphate free haircare, I just find that in the long run, sulphate free products tend to control my frizz better. Also, if you have a Brazillian Blow Wave, the sulphates mean that you cannot sure these products on your hair.

I’m just really pleased that they have started moving away fro animal testing. I would love it even more if it was sulphate free though.
