Me Before You by Jojo Moyes is another must read I’ll be adding to my top rated books for 2013! This book, which was rated as Amazon’s book of the month back in January when it released is so much more than just a novel, it’s an in depth look at human euthanasia which reads like a romance novel but makes a number of interesting and thought provoking points on the subject!

They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .
Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has never been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.
Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.
A Love Story for this generation, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

This is NOT a romance novel. It’s emotionally challenging read that will make you question so many things about your own life while taking you on a journey of one of your worst nightmares. It challenged my thoughts and beliefs and broke my heart.

This book is not a fairytale love story, the princess is not saved by her prince, they don’t live happily ever after, the ending is gut wrenching and left me with a lingering sense of loss and sadness long after I had finished it.But it ended perfectly. It ended as it should be.

Beautiful, though provoking, emotionally intense, challenging… Add Me Before You to your holiday reading list!
