I was sent a 6.5kg Spindel specialist laundry drier a few week’s ago to review and it wasn’t until this past weekend that I finally got around to setting ii up and putting it through it’s paces.
I’m not really sure what I expected but it wasn’t this. For some reason I had it in my head that this was some version of a mini tumble drier but it’s not! And with the onset of winter and the cooler days with weaker sun, it’s the perfect time to be using this nifty little appliance.
The Spindel drier works by centrifugal force instead of heat to quickly remove excess moisture from laundry. It also extracts residual detergent and mineral deposits from the fabric, so laundry dries cleaner and feels better too! Spindel can be used with machine or hand-washed laundry and is safe for all fabrics.
Wait, in case that all sounded like Greek to you, let me show you…..
*excuse Walter talking in the back ground! Gggrr!
But do you hear how quiet it is? And see how much water it extracted from the clothes, that’s even after a normal spinning cycle in my washing machine.
Some of the thinner items came out of the Spindel dry enough to simply be ironed and packed away, the thicker items required significantly less time hanging on the line to dry, which with winter approaching is great, I mean, how many times have you hung washing on the line, in winter, for an entire day and it’s still damp and you wind up having to tumble dry it.
Because the Spindel does not use heat drying technology, it is also way more energy efficient and much gentler on fabrics.

I have a washing machine with a spin speed of up to 1200 rpm. The clothes seem to come out damp, not completely wet or dry. In your experience, has the spindel been any help after your clothes have spun in your washing machine?
Yes. Even after an extended spin cycle in my washing machine, the Spindel still managed to get out about another 2L of water.
