Earlier this week, I was super stoked to receive this gorgeous, personalized blogger drop from the Pressed Juice Co.
Because I am a huge believer and fan of juicing, it’s one of the best ways to get a large serving of veggies & fruit in in one go, I’ve blogged about our juicing adventures before and it’s something we’ve done regularly, until my husband starts complaining about what a ball ache it is to clean the juicer (I cook, I don’t clean!), then I pack it away for a while and once he’s forgotten how tedious it is to clean, I whip it out again and we revert back to juicing.
And then….. enter the Pressed Juice Company and now you get all the benefits of juicing without the ball ache of the cleaning!
Philly & Kelly are long time friends with a passion and a calling to help people find health, happiness and wellness through their beautiful juices which are, wherever possible, sourced from the best fresh, organic, locally sourced produce. Their claim to fame is that their juice is totally fresh and pure with nothing added and nothing taken away.
The ladies over at Pressed Juice Co. sent me a one day cleanse to try and I did it yesterday. I won’t lie guys, it was tough! I’d eaten badly the night before and so I started my day with a headache, skipping my first morning coffee was pure torture and by 1pm when I had to drink the Hardcore Green, my stomach was literally somersaulting and I was convinced my head was going to explode but interestingly, a short while after that drink I started to feel better.
The One Day Cleanse includes the following juices:
- 1 Pressed Green – Granny Smith Apple, Cucumber, Spinach, Kale, Romaine, Celery, Ginger, Lemon
- 1 Pressed Orange – Orange, Carrot, Ginger, Lemon
- 1 Hardcore Green – Cucumber, Spinach, Kale, Romaine, Celery, Ginger, Lemon
- 1 Pressed Yellow – Pineapple, Coconut Water, Lime
- 1 Cashew Nut Milk – Cashew Nuts, Purified Water, Vanilla, Agave Nectar, Cinnamon, Himalayan Salt
- 1 Pressed Red – Carrot, Beetroot, Apple, Mint, Lemon
- 2 Pukka Herbal Teas
I enjoyed all the juices, even the Hardcore Green, but I think that is more because I’d hit a major slump during the cleanse around the time I drank that juice. I found the beginning part of the cleanse hard. I was hungry, headachey and a little nauseous throughout the morning but after the 1pm Hardcore Green juice I started to feel better and by the evening I was feeling surprisingly fine.
I’ve been battling with my eating lately, falling back into old bad habits of comfort eating and the cleanse was the perfect opportunity to whip my butt back into gear and refocus on my health. I did notice throughout the course of the day that I past a lot of water and there must be a lot of fibre in the juices because this morning…… I also weighed myself yesterday morning and again this morning and I dropped a KG during the course of yesterday. Granted I know most of this will be water & the point of a cleanse is not for weight loss, but just watching the scale drop is motivation enough for me to get back in the zone of good health.
My girls are also really enjoying the Kids Juices. Ok, that’s a lie. Hannah is really enjoying the kids juices. Ava, I’ve blogged before, is HIGHLY suspicious of food & it takes a lot of encouragement for her to try anything new or anything that she can’t instantly recognize. But her theme for Show & Tell today is health food and so I’ve sent her off to school with her juices in the hope that having her classmates try the juice and tell her how delicious it is will encourage her to have some too.
Hannah has enjoyed all her juices and has declared that the Scally Berry is her favorite one!

I think the most important point to note is the difference between these cold pressed kids juices and the processed ones you buy in supermarkets that are packed with added sugar and other additives. As parents, I think we’re wising up and becoming more and more aware of the amount of added sugar and additives there are in foods specifically marketed towards kids and the effects on long term health and well being these products are having. This is was Pressed Juice Co. has to say on that:
Aren’t kids’ juices full of sugar?
Fruit does contain natural sugar known as “free sugars”, and the Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) recommends that free sugars make up only around 5% of children’s dietary energy. At the Pressed Juice Co., we’re committed to keeping the vegetable content of our juices at 75%, which greatly reduces the free sugar content of the overall product.
Why are pressed juices better for my kids than normal juices?
Besides the fact that we use a cold pressed technique to preserve the nutrients in the fruits and vegetables contained in our juices, we also don’t use any additives, and we flash freeze our juices so that we don’t need to use any preservatives. In addition, our juices also contain vegetables, which helps reduce the amount of sugar you’d find in a pure fruit juice. By comparison, many conventional fruit juices aimed at kids are artificially sweetened and contain additives, colourants and preservatives, which means many of the intended nutritional benefits are lost.
Because I am so focused on avoiding eating processed foods and sticking to good quality fresh produce, I really love the concept of Pressed Juice Co. There beautiful juices are all natural and packed with goodness but without the hassle of trying to cold press juice at home.
