We were very fortunate to attend the press event on Tuesday evening in celebration of the opening of The Ice Age Exhibition. Unfortunately Hannah has been sick AGAIN this week and so Walter stayed home with her and I took Ava and her bestie to the event, which turned out to be a magical recreation of the Ice Age for kids.

If your kids, like Ava, are obsessed with animals and dinosaurs and animals from the various era’s, then, they will love this exhibition. It really was a magical evening for the kids.
Last year, we had the Dinosaur exhibition, and this year we have the Ice Age and just in time for the looong, boring school holidays that lie ahead.
The exhibition boasts a 3 000 m² display area that includes 45 life sized, moving animals throughout 12 different display areas, that’s over and above the animals available for viewing and riding in the interactive area too.
This year, there is also a virtual aquarium where visitors will feel immersed in a large, digitally simulated tank and see two prehistoric cetacean species that inhabited the oceans millions of years ago.
Ava and her little friend had a great time. I asked them afterwards what their favorite parts were and the list was long, clearly they were having a hard time choosing but they loved having their photo taken on a sabertooth cat, they loved the woolly mammoths and they must have gone through the snow blizzard tunnel 50 hundred times (Ava’s words)

I loved the interactive area’s with the puzzles and quizzes and of course the ice slide and snow slide were absolute winners. Ava and Morgan would have stayed their ALL night if we’d let them and there was a mini melt down and some tears when we eventually dragged them away.
