I’m a TikTok Skincare addict! Yes, I admit it! From pimple popping, to dermatology accounts and beauty reviews, I am obsessed with TikTok skincare videos, so no surprises that when I kept getting served TikTok’s about The Ordinary’s Peeling Solution, you know I was going to buy it!
About The Ordinary Peeling Solution
Firstly, it should be noted that The Ordinary Peeling Solution has a high concentration of free acides. This means that it shouldn’t be used if you have sensitive skin, a compromised skin barrier or you are not an experienced user of acid on your skin.
I set a timer to make sure that I don’t leave the solution on for longer than 10 minutes. I started out using the solution for just a few minutes and slowly built up to 10 minutes to ensure no skin irritations and I’ve been loving the results so far.
The solution contains Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) which exfoliate the skin’s topmost layer for a brighter and more even skin tone. Beta hydroxy acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function of helping clear pore congestion. This combined 30% AHA and 2% BHA solution offers deeper exfoliation to help fight visible blemishes and for improved skin radiance. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture and reduces the look of fine lines with regular usage.
Important things to note:
Because The Ordinary Peeling Solution contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) and a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) your skin will be much more sensitive to the sun and it’s important to wear a good quality sunscreen over your normal day cream for at least a week after using the product.
Again, it’s essential to remember to not use the product for more than 10 minutes at a time and no ore than twice a week. I’ve now built up my usage to 10 minutes twice a week now.
My Thoughts
I love it! It’s well worth the R500 I dropped on it. My skin is feeling much smoother and softer and it looks brighter too. Also, it’s important to peel or exfoliate regularly as this removes the top layer of dead skin which then ensures that all my serums and other products penetrate my skin properly
I bought my The Ordinary Peeling Solution from Takealot but it is available from a large number of online stores in SA. Shop around because the prices vary too.

R500!? That’s so expensive. I pay £6.30 here (R125). Great product! I use about 10 products in their range and have completely moved away from Dermalogica now that wasn’t working for my skin anymore. I’ve also started using Tretanoin now too as well as snail mucin alongside The Ordinary stuff and my skin hasn’t been this good in a long time.

Ja it’s not cheap here and I think because there is no official distributor so I think the pricing is unregulated. I paid R500 but I’ve seen it available for as much as R1000! It’s a fabulous product.

Great post! I’m shopping around for new skincare products and The Ordinary has come up a lot, I think I might just give it a try 🙂

I buy from fashionpolice.co.za and it’s around R300. I LOVE it. I’ve totally switched over to The Ordinary products and I have better skin at 44 than I did in my 30’s
