Really good quality skin care does not need to cost a fortune.

I recently participated in a Beauty Bulletin campaign to trial African Extracts Rooibos AdvantAge range and I was blown away the quality of these really reasonably priced products.

I got to try out the AdvantAge Day Cream, Creamy Cleanser, Refining Polish and Hand & Nail Cream.

African Extracts Rooibos Advantage

Growing up in South Africa, we are all aware of the amazing health benefits of Rooibos, especially the green extract, which is used in African Extracts Rooibos ranges. Naturally high in ascorbic acid, zinc and antioxidants, recent research undertaken at the University of Stellenbosch shows that the same green extract is effective in limiting the replication of precancerous skin cells. This reinforces the protective benefit offered against damaging and ageing environmental factors.

African Extracts Rooibos Creamy Cleanser & Refining Polish

I start my morning skin care regime by cleansing with the Creamy Cleanser, which retails for R74,99. I’ve always been a fan of gel/foaming cleansers so I was skeptical of this product. But it has such a gentle and cleansing effect on my skin, without leaving it feeling stripped and tight after cleansing. It also smells amazing.

In the evenings, I cleanse with the Creamy Cleanser and then use the Refining Polish for a really deep cleanse after a day of my skin facing the elements and to remove any make up residue. This product is also available for only R74,99. I loved the texture of it, it is granular for the exfoliating and deep cleansing effect, but gentle at the same time. Again, it smells incredible and left my skin feeling smooth and cleansed.

But the day cream was the real winner for me.

African Extracts Intensive Day Cream

It retails for R160,99 and it is fabulous! I was a little concerned because I am prone to an oily t zone, that this cream would be too rich for my skin. But it wasn’t. It smells AMAZING, it penetrates the skin easily and left my skin feeling soft and supple without any additional t zone oiliness during the day. It also have an SPF so it gives you that added protection during the day.

African Extracts Advantage Hand Cream

I use the hand cream at night, it’s also very rich and leaves a residue on your hands so I like to apply mine at night for replenishing and nourishing my hands while I sleep. It retails for R54,99 and like all the other products I tried, it has an incredible and unmistakable clean and natural smell.

Here is a quick overview video of my thoughts and impressions of the African Extracts Rooibos Range:
