Yesterday we were invited to attend a sneak preview of Dreamworks new movie, Home 3D. Of course, I knew it would be a great treat and day out for my girls but I was also apprehensive as in all her 5 years, Ava has never sat through an entire movie, whether watching at home or in the cinema and Hannah has never been to the cinema before. I’ve also never been to a 3D movie before so it was going to be quite a little outing for all of us.

The preview was held at Monte Casino and to say that we were spoiled by Times Media would be an understatement. When we arrived, there was a fully decked sweetie table with cupcakes and lucky packets and tons of other goodies for the kids to enjoy, getting them all hyped up and excited for the movie. Thankfully there was also a bubble machine which had the kids running, screaming, jumping and trying to catch all the bubbles and working off some of their sugar rush before we went into the cinema.

My favorite was the Home photo booth and the photo’s we got to take home.

Hannah was particularly taken with the bubble machines and with the Boov named Oh who is one of the main characters in the film. Once we got everyone settled in their seats, which was quite a feat, armed with a pram, 3D glasses for us all, boxes of popcorn (which mostly landed up all over the cinema floor)and cool drinks which mostly got spilled and whines about who needs the toilet, who can’t see the screen, who needs a booster seat (which the cinema thankfully provided) the lights went down and the magic began!

Home is an amazing movie, my kids loved it! Ava was riveted from start to finish, she did not ask to go home, go to the toilet or when the movie is finishing, not once during the screening. Hannah squealed with delight and gave great big belly laughs at the Boov’s and sat throughout the entire movie, only having to be removed from the cinema 10 minutes before the end – I was really quite impressed with her.

The movie is really funny too, especially for fans of The Big Bang Theory as the voice of Oh is Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and both kids and adults will be highly entertained.

Home 3D is coming to cinema screens near you on the 27th March and your kids will love it, just in time for the start of school holidays too!

An optimistic yet inept alien race called the Boov led by Captain Smek (Steve Martin) invade the Earth to hide from their mortal enemy and make it their new home. Convinced that they are doing humans a favor, they begin to relocate them to a Desert Planet. A resourceful teenage girl named Tip (Rihanna), manages to avoid capture. When on the run and looking for the location of her mother Lucy (Jennifer Lopez), she is accompanied by a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons) who has accidentally notified his people’s enemies of their whereabouts.
